To the casual observer it might look as though I’ve deserted this challenge just as it is approaching the climax. Nothing could be further from the truth. At this stage all the concentration is on contacting JV partners and affiliates and keeping the momentum going.

You cannot expect JV partners and affiliates just to be concentrating on your product. They have a living to make and will, most likely, be working on, and promoting, a wide range of products to their subscribers. Keeping in constant contact during the countdown to full-blown launch is an absolute necessity.

Keeping their interest involves more than just staying in contact. Having a high ticket product is almost certain to marshal their concentration on promoting your product.

Naturally you can’t be expected to produce a thousand dollar product for your first launch. In fact you’ll be hard put to come up with a $97 product in the time allowed. Of course no-one is dictating your product price other than you - or are they?

It is tempting to apply the rules of price and quantity when it comes to selling IM products. You probably know that the lower the price of a product the greater its potential sale quantity. Conversely the higher the price the lower the sales quantity - in general.

However you might be surprised to find that this rule applies better to physical products than it does to IM products. Certainly the rule applies if you are selling on your own, but where JV partners are involved the rule book goes out the window.

The reason is simple. JV partners and affiliates will work a lot harder at selling a product for which they receive a greater reward. It is, after all, only natural that they should do so.

But can you get away with just hiking up the price of your product to make them work harder?

The simple answer is…  NO! You have to offer greater value as the price increases. There are two ways round this for the newbie marketer, and I’ll touch on those tomorrow.
